In. Jan. 2026, Shasta County began installing up to 24 ALPR cameras. I ask for people to email pictures of the cameras they encounter. I need an exact location, direction the camera is facing, and pictures of the camera preferably showing some background that helps identify the location to: shastacountyalpr@proton.me

I am aggregating the pictures and locations of the 24 county cameras and will post them in the future.

They are mostly placed using the following parameters:

Roads leading into the County, major intersections, detours available, right of ways (state, city, etc), distances to the vehicles being captured (100 ft or less), near critical infrastructure or secure facilities, etc.
