NEW this website also has a "route" function which will allow you to use your location/destination to AVOID the cameras. This feature will make your travel time increase. In Shasta County roads, rivers, train crossings limit our choices so you may not avoid all cameras, but you can avoid most of them.
Recent national database of ALPR cameras: uses multiple inputs but beware, not all cameras notices are actual ALPRs; some of them are "red light" cameras. Certainly, we can NOT be sure that some cameras installed for other purposes are also NOT able to be used as ALPRs. We can NOT trust any camera and may assume each one can perform multiple functions, unless provided otherwise. For Shasta County, I prefer actual pics of the cameras that can be put up on the links. I personally, do NOT trust anything coming from a gov't or corporate source so take the above story into account accordingly. Flock and Ring could be still merging and NOT disclose it publicly.
You'll notice in the Shasta Co. Sheriff policy section (b), where neither reasonable suspicion nor probable cause is required to use the ALPR system!
This is a portion of Redding (CA) police dept. ALPR search history. This document is required to be maintained by law. From 1/1/25 to 9/1/25, RPD had 24,730 search entries and returns. Notice the column for "case#/LE report#" is blank. These are the unconstitutional "searches" that occur without warrants which is a requirement of the 4th Amendment of the US Constitution.
